CSI Project.
This project was created to demonstrate the science behind solving crimes. Students were assigned a specific crime scene and then asked to solve the crime using methods such as fingerprinting, blood typing, bullet trajectory, and many more methods. We wrote evidence log forms for each method discussing our methods. After our crimes were solved we exhibited our final results.

I enjoyed this project for many reasons. One being the hands on aspect, and another being that it had real world implements. The most interesting part was using professional techniques to solve the crime. I was very engaged the majority of this project. Collaboration was difficult for me because my partner did not finish his evidence logs until the day of exhibition and they were not very good quality either.

Pig Dissection
At the beginning of our dissection project students were placed in groups of two and were assigned an animal to dissect. There were three options available for dissection, a cat, shark, or a fetal pig. I dissected the fetal pig and I was paired with Nick Aronson. The first day with our specimen, we spent our day exploring the external anatomy of the pig including the vibrissae, and nictitating membrane. Along with these external features, we also looked at more obvious features like fur function and oral anatomy of our specimen. Once we had examined the external anatomy of the pig, we began examining the internal anatomy. We explored the internal anatomy by examining muscle systems in our pig and then began to look at organs and internal systems. We studied digestive systems, the nervous system, and circulatory systems to gain an understanding of the biological functions within the body and how they perform similarly between pigs and humans. At the end of this project, we took an exam where one partner recorded the other with a video camera, and each student went through and explained each section of the pig and how each part of the body functioned.
Monkey Meal Project
The Monkey Meal Planning project was a little project we did to make meal plans utilizing certain foods for chimps. Below you can find my meal plan and recipe.
Durango Nature Studies Project
The Durango Nature Studies project was a project that Animas High School does annualy. It is to monitor certain aspects of the ecosystem around the Durango Nature Studies Property. Our goal is to improve the ecosystem that the Durango Nature Studies property is built on. This includes monitoring things like phosphates in the river, measuring pH levels in the pond, gathering data on the current frog population there and taking samples of the water back to further inspect. The first part of the writing was the Habitat Assessment, Executive Summary and Species Overview, which identified certain parts of the Durango Nature Studies property and give an assessment on the current species living there. The next part was making graphs and tables, which was an easy way to exhibit our data that we collected. And the final part was the Recommendations that we made to better the health and overall well being of the Durango Nature Studies habitat and property.
